BIOGRAPHY

I can honestly say I was born at Home. People familiar with Lafayette, IN will understand the reference to Home Hospital. It doesn’t exist anymore nor does Wainwright High School, the school from which I graduated. One could get the feeling that you are older than you really are because you have outlived so many things.

After meeting and marring Joy, we moved quite often. We lived in Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, and Kentucky – with a short stay in Zambia. Our daughter, Lori, was born in Illinois (the same town Joy was born), and our son, Ian, was born in Indiana (the same town and hospital where I was born).

Now we are happily rooted in Holland, Michigan. Holland is a beautiful town with a charming downtown of specialized stores. Tourists enjoy special events, like the Tulip Festival, and the personalized attention while shopping. We enjoy going to the beach often to watch the waves and sunsets. One of our favorite places to relax is along the channel where the big boats traverse between Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa.

When I first went off to college, I thought I was going to be a preacher, but I had no idea what they were talking about in my classes. I dropped out so often it took eighteen years to finish. I finally graduated from Berea College in 1991, where I studied industrial technology. It was a subject I understood, and I excelled in my studies. I am currently employed as an engineer with a company that makes parts for hospital beds and other medical devices. I keep working because the parts we make contribute to the health and wellness of the community and worldwide.

If you read the other pages of this website, you’ll see how I began writing. It doesn’t look like I can ever stop. Some people would say I have an active imagination. Others would say I daydream too much. But that is where the stories come from. I feel like God inspires me with many of the points made throughout the story. It’s almost like going back to when I thought I was going to be a preacher. So, I write because I have a message from God. Also, my wife of 42 years loves to read, so I craft each story to entertain her. I’ve heard it said that if you want to make a woman happy, build her a library. This works too!.
